I accidentally ordered two used packs. I wanted to give one and leave one, but both packages were in such a deplorable condition that I couldn't give one. I decided to keep her to myself. In one package all the elves had already opened battery packs. They weren't cellophane wrapped. There was a large sticker on the box indicating it had been used. The second package was completely destroyed from the outside. Inside, the gnomes were cellophane-wrapped and their batteries still intact, but someone had "cleaned" their beards and left a large bundle of dirty cotton in the box. Two dwarves lost half their beards. I decided to make the best of it as it was my fault (note: don't shop at Revain at 3am with your eyes closed!). That night I put the gnomes on the mantelpiece and turned on their light. They were very nice but all the lights went down to almost zero in a couple of hours. Not good. My next step will be to open one up and see if the batteries can be replaced, charged, or just taken out. Next year I might use them as simple decorations on my unlit Christmas tree. Too bad because they are really adorable when they glow. If I received new ones in perfect condition and they actually lasted a day or two they would be five stars. I gave them three stars because they are still smelly cute kittens.
