For the "Parent" device: 1) The initial charge of the battery was complete (according to the indicator lights) in two hours, although according to the instructions it should take 16 hours. That gave me the first one Hint that the battery could be the problem. 2) The "Power" button didn't turn off the device when I was about to take it to my mother's house where I installed it. 3) So I left the device on, but the charge ran out after an hour, which confirms what other reviewers have complained about. 4) I took it to my mother anyway. Pocketed it. But on the other hand, the "power" button didn't work and I couldn't turn on the device whether it was plugged into the wall or not. I'm not really surprised as the device is very cheap and should cost $7.99. I am very disappointed with Consumer Reports who gave this product a high rating.
