I needed a wire to power the engine compartment, specifically the street lights, from the control box in my Wrangler. Copper wire is pretty expensive now so I looked at copper coated aluminum wire instead. There seem to be a lot of caveats attached to this, but most of them can be easily resolved by simply increasing a few gauges (i.e. taking a 14 gauge instead of an 18 gauge). Despite this, this wire is still a lot cheaper per foot and carries the same current with ease. What really impressed me about this wire and made me a convert for life is how EASY it is to work with. Copper wire is fine, but this wire is surprisingly flexible. It's very easy to go around corners, cut ducts, pull through a firewall. Can you bend it repeatedly? What's the difference, why are you doing this? When you install a cable, you only need to install it once, not repeatedly. Try this wire and ignore all doomsday predictions to use anything other than pure OFC (oxygen free copper).
