The service engine light comes on.

I bought this to replace my 2007 Tahoe gas cap which broke in two. It spins fine though, now I keep getting the "tighten gas cap" warning, which triggers the service engine light for a "small vaporizer leak" caused by a loose gas cap. I can't tighten it further than it allows me to before it clicks 5 or 6 times.

Pros

FUEL CAP/FUEL CAP REPLACEMENT: Most fuel caps are closed by twisting until you hear a click. An old, loose gas cap, a cracked or otherwise faulty gas cap can cause the CEL check engine light to illuminate. If the check engine light comes on, or you smell gasoline or diesel fumes around or near the gas cap, and your vehicle is not smoking or making unusual noises, take a moment to inspect the gas cap.
