More girly prints than boyish prints. I don't really care, but I noticed other reviews said so and I agree. The bags feel durable, comfortable and fit the most important essentials. My eldest is in middle school so will update the review on how he handles some heavy books once the year starts. The zippers all seem to work, I didn't notice any stitching on the ones I checked. I know how to sew if I find a bad stitch here and there and I think if you find one the fabric will hold up well to repair and reinforcement. The straps are soft and comfortable. The prints are neat and the kids love them. Overall I would say this is a good investment.
