Review on πŸ“· Yada BT53328M-1 Digital Wireless Backup Camera with 4.3" Dash Monitor by Michael Eldridge

Great product at a reasonable price

I am completely satisfied with this camera and monitor. There could be better devices for a lot more money, but I don't see much room for improvement. Been to the car wash once - no problems. On my monitor the picture is very clear (and my eyes are 82 years old). I installed it myself. The biggest problem I had was connecting to the reverse light on my 2004 Ford SportTrac. After at least half a dozen failed attempts with the included splice clips, I went to my local O'Reilly auto parts store and bought a few more. Still no joy. With great trepidation, I bought some small wire nuts, cut the locking wire in half, twisted the wires together, and screwed on the wire nut. VOILA! It worked. Also the wire from the camera to the bare ends was MUCH longer than I needed. I cut it to a suitable length, connected it and wrapped the exposed wire with electrical tape. It's been working for me for a week now with no problems. With all the wiring issues, it took me two 4 hour sessions to get it done, but I enjoyed the challenge. Time will tell if the vibration will loosen my nuts, but from experience I don't think it will. Yada has developed a great product at a reasonable price. I give 5 stars without hesitation. Now I would be interested to know if the company sells shorter connection cables from the monitor to my cigarette lighter. The one that comes is MUCH longer. If not, I cut it in half and glue it together, but I'd rather have a closer look in the cab of my truck.
