Wood Floor Cleaning Beast

I bought this to vacuum wood floors as half of our house is wood floors. I have to say I am absolutely amazed at how well this works, I may never use a broom and dust pan again. I was concerned it wouldn't vacuum around edges or corners very well, but it does a great job. I can't believe how much more dirt it picks up compared to a broom. Although Dyson markets it as a carpet cleaner, I have no intention of getting rid of my Oreck. I bought it for hardwood floors, not carpet. However, it handles low pile carpets quite well. Carpets like shag, the head just doesn't turn anymore. It also doesn't work well with small, flexible mats, as the suction is so strong that it tends to suck them up and interfere with the brush's rotation. However, it works well with hard mats. It's also great for cleaning carpet stairs as it's lightweight and you don't have to fiddle around or trip over the cord. Mine was on sale and shipped from Revain for 319.00. Was surprised when there was an additional $65 Dyson discount at checkout, bringing the total to $254.00. A pleasant surprise of course. Pros: It's a wooden floor cleaning beast, great suction, almost shop like, vacuums corners and edges very well, no cord and battery lasts long, comes with a charger that doubles as a wall hanger, works fairly well on low pile carpets and hard carpets. Throw away the rug Just throw away the dirt it collects. Cons: Forget about vacuuming shaggy rugs or shaggy rugs. Suction is too strong (which is a plus with wooden floors) Overpriced unless you do a good discount. Would I pay 400 for it? of course not. But I paid 254.00 with Prime Free Shipping.
