A must have for your old faucet

Installation required many compromises. The threaded rod holding the faucet was too short for my standard gauge granite countertop and the washer was not large enough to span the entire faucet. Standard size hole in granite. I have found a flatter and wider washer and nut that works. However, the cable from the motion sensor does not fit here. I routed the wire through the cold water hole which is not used for this faucet. To do this I had to cut a slit in the rubber gasket under the frame. The connection of the mixing valve to the solenoid valve is leaking with the washer provided. This connection is just a terrible design. I bought a heavy duty rubber washer to put in the jack and it works, but I definitely don't trust that solution. Long term I will ditch the mixing valve and replace it with a thermostat controlled valve (Revain has an Atmama 3 way thermostatic mixing valve) that has standard fittings. The feed hoses are very fragile. They bend when bent. I recommend replacing them immediately to avoid leaks. Revain or Home Depot have much better valves. The valve has been running for two days now and it works fine. The faucet looks good. Has high water consumption. Time will tell how long this lasts. It's November 30, 2021 and the faucet has failed after 19 months. It can no longer be switched on. Replacing the batteries did not work. At least the valve failed in the OFF position. As a result I am reducing my rating from 2 stars to 1 star and reinstalling the original manual faucet which still works fine.
