We picked this up for our 7 month old puppy (approximately 12 lbs soaking wet) to keep him warm during those forays into the cold we experience in the Great North. The coat appears to act as a great barrier against cold winds and he stays plenty warm. So much so that he now wants to spend a lot more time out during our "short" bathroom runs that can go on for 10 minutes or more due to his increased warmth. (I now wear my equally warm coat to indulge in some refreshing air.)Overall, the coat holds well, doesn't move, and it doesn't inhibit his ability to use the bathroom. He loves to wear this on his daily walks, although it took him a little time to associate the coat with going outdoors, I think he now understands and is willing to put it on with little fuss.
