I had no problems fitting these feet and they look great. I'm not very practical, maybe it will help you if I explain how I installed the legs. What I needed: Finished countertop, 16 screws, wrench, drill and drill bit, tape. Really I needed everything! (Read 1 and 2 before proceeding to the hardware). I also used a pencil and ruler. 1. I measured the thickness of my countertop - I finished the Butcher Block.2 piece. I took one of the table legs to the hardware store (I chose ACE) to buy 16 tie bolts and a tie bolt wrench. (To help you, they need to know the thickness of your countertop. Your bolts (or screws) should be shorter than the thickness of your table). I also asked what the best bit size would be. (If you need a bit and tape, don't forget that.) 3. From the tip of the drill I measured how deep the screw should go into the table. I placed the tape on the bit at this depth. (No, not in the spot next to the chuck that holds the drill bit in place. The tip of the tape indicates how deep you want to drill - it's a measurement smaller than the countertop thickness.) 4. I used a pencil to mark where I wanted to foot (I placed my feet about 1 inch inside the edges). I measured again. Hole with a tape bit until it is as deep as a tape mark (after drilling the first hole a bit, I made sure the screw was the right size for the hole) 6. I used a wrench to set the lag screw a . 7. I drilled and inserted a second connecting bolt into the leg before drilling the final two holes for each leg and hammering the bolts in. multiple times. It may be slower, but I haven't experienced any dropouts or bugs. Even very slowly, it only lasted 40 minutes. Thanks to those who recommended the wrench. This work would have been difficult without him. Duct tape also helped a lot. On the phone, the shipper recommended lag bolts for my 1.5" butcher block, although Rew's Sc wood could have been used. The clamp screws work really well and I'm glad I used them.
