Review on 🔧 Casablanca 99195 Fan and Light Wall Remote Control in White (Works with Casablanca Universal Receiver 99199, sold separately) by Jeremiah Vishwasrao

Just finished installing this controller. The controller requires your fan to have a wireless receiver (sold separately) installed in the fan case. I used the Casablanca Piston fan controller that came with the wireless receiver. The controller requires two AAA batteries to power the wireless backlight, brightness up/down, fan power, and speed up/down buttons. The main switch (below the six wireless buttons) is a mechanical single-pole switch that's hardwired like a regular light switch. Main mechanical switch and wireless switch are completely separated inside. The controller is actually a wireless remote control combined with a traditional light switch. This means the controller can be used anywhere within wireless range (even in your hands) without hardwiring (you just lose the functionality of the bottom master switch). I connected the controller to a Casablanca piston fan (which came with a remote control). Pairing instructions are a bit unclear. To pair, you must turn off the fan (using a mechanical light switch or circuit breaker) and turn it back on after 30 seconds. After turning off the device, press and hold the backlight and fan power buttons on the controller until the LED on the controller flashes. The controller should now be able to control the fan and lights. Both the remote that came with my fan and this controller can now control the fan. When using the bottom main power switch to perform a power cycle, the switch is OFF when OUT and ON when ON, flush with the controller. This controller works well. The reason I only gave this controller 4 stars is because I don't like that to change the AAA batteries, I have to unscrew the switch from the socket to get to the battery compartment. Also, I wish they would make it in a light almond color in addition to the standard white.
