Shelves and ropes are thick and strong. They are also clean and not torn. It hangs straight so I'm not worried about shelves tipping over or accent pieces sliding off at all. Just find a bobby pin and use the hook to hang it. This product has its own weight - not heavy - just enough to be strong and not flimsy. Add your items and it can get heavy. I'm still picking items for the shelf. I will update this review with a picture when my shelves are full!
