I used this to help me catch some armadillos that were wreaking havoc on my landscape. One thing I noticed is that they are sensitive to the ultrasonic waves emitted by the transmitters. They helped me get rid of these rodents but so far I haven't used the right tools to get rid of them. However, there is always hope. The only thing I regret buying is that I didn't get four of these, which would have helped me control the area more effectively. Good product, worth the money and well made. These devices are not sensitive enough to reliably signal when animals pass the detector field. I have also experienced batteries getting very hot when used in a metal detector, draining very quickly, popping out of the battery compartment and causing intermittent connections to the battery terminals. I would not recommend this product if you want to detect objects smaller than a car or truck. Just not reliable. I ended up going to another detector which turned out to be better made.
