I love slicing cheddar very thin when eating it with crackers and was looking for a slicer that could do that. The one with the wire never cuts the cheese thin enough, but this one is perfect for that. You can slice very thin or thick depending on how you set it up. Other reviews have said it crumbles the cheese but I found it only happens at the very end of the slice but that's only when I've cut really sharp cheddar it crumbles a bit no matter what slicer you use. use, so I don't think it's the product.
