Cheaply Made - Toilets

I'm flushing the toilet in our RV when I hear this popping. I run into the bathroom and see the flush handle lying on the floor. I sent the handle back but didn't remove the top of the toilet. That same night, woman gets up at night to go to the bathroom and guess what kind of pen is back on the floor. Luckily I installed a shut-off valve on the toilet so I just turned off the water until morning. The next morning I took the toilet apart and saw that the tab holding the spring is very cheap and if it breaks it will knock the handle off. I stuck a screw into the toilet to hold the spring until I found a new base. Two days later I get a new base and see how cheap the tab is to hold the spring but it was an easy fix. There's a reason Revain stocks this part, because it's a cheap part at around $75 that's readily available. It seems to me that all van parts and accessories are made cheaply to keep the cost of the van down. Most van parts and accessories are short lived and we lived in them for 3-4 months. Our RV is a Montana Highland designed for permanent living. I could tell many stories about how long it takes to live in an RV, and not all of them are good.
