Review on SCOTTCHEN PRO RV Awning Rod Opener: Easy Reach Telescopic Puller 13-3/8'' to 44-1/4'' Silver & Blue - 1 Pack by Alex Maynard

I may have just received a broken unit and most are working fine. I was very disappointed! My Experience: I lengthened the block so I could reach the extend/retract lever on my RV's side awning. I hooked the end of the opener rod under the lever and pulled to bring it to the "extended" position. To my amazement, the rectangular portion of the opener rod just popped right out of the tube it was pushed into. I have since purchased an "old style" opener bar from CAMCO. This device is not retractable, but it is solid metal, not a retractable rod, and the rectangular portion of the CAMCO device is not pressed in like Scottchen. Go with a solid piece of metal. Yes, it's longer and won't fall apart. But it works and should serve for many years. Thanks very much!
