This is a sharpener that uses a very common dual carbide blade system found in many styles and brands of sharpeners. It has some advantages over others. It has a flat bottom and is very secure in its working position. Very roll resistant when moving the knife over the tool. The handle is well designed, providing a stabilizing grip to keep items in place, with molded finger grooves next to the sharpener to ensure a good grip. They haven't reinvented the sharpening part of the tool, it is very similar to several other dual carbide sharpeners I have and sharpens just as well. Ideal for attaching or enhancing a quickly used edge. Its size makes it easy to hold and harder to lose. There are similar and equally functional pencil sharpeners for a few bucks less, but they don't have the cool and classic KBAR look.
