Okay, I didn't use them to make our house smell nice but to keep mosquitoes in the garage and out of the house when the kids left the door open. After some research, I found out that lavender and vanilla are two scents that mosquitoes don't like. I use plugins on both sides of the garage with a midway setup. I'm happy to report (knock on wood) that this seems to work and seems to keep other insects away. We've had them in the garage for over a month now and I've only seen 1 mosquito in the last month (+95% reduction instead of 2-5 per day) and other small flies and moths seem to avoid the garage as well as an addendum. Bonus. Doesn't pause home files.
