I use the adapter to piece together my work from home equipment, personal laptop & an old Dell desktop & connect 4 monitors in my office. The USB drives on my Lenovo laptop stopped working. This adapter also helps me to plug in USB devices through the USB-C port as an alternative.It needs a power supply though which did not come with the item & wasn't in the instructions. I had to do some troubleshooting the 2nd day after it stopped working. I haven't had any major problems since adding power (basically an old cell phone cord worked). I will sometime get an "E drive" error that pops up after I initially plug in. Sometimes it goes away, sometimes it pops up multiple times. Not sure if this is a problem with my laptop or the product itself. My Lenovo can sometimes be a bit finicky. It still works but is annoying to get this error message popping up all the time.I am happy with the product. It has a few quirks, don't get me wrong. However, I am amazed at what this adapter has helped me accomplish. My home office was a mess with too many devices, monitors & non-functioning USB ports & difficulty separating my home office from my work from home office. Everything is now streamlined. I can use my home office as a true multi-purpose room for work, home & play. I can swap things out easily & use 3 screens for work or 3 screens for home/ play. Sometimes I work & play at the same time! I would say just add a power source & get to the bottom of the E drive error problem & this will be a fantastic product I would highly recommend.
