Review on 🌍 Garmin 010-00321-31 18x USB GPS Navigator Unit in Black - Enhanced SEO by Anthony Mayes

I bought this GPS receiver to control OpenCPN on a 64-bit Windows 7 laptop when the cheaper generic BU-353 with Prolific driver didn't work for me. The Prolific driver requires something like an XPORT serial COM port splitter to avoid problems with disconnecting the USB port. However, XPORT is not available for 64-bit Windows. The Garmin device doesn't seem to have this shortcoming. So far it has worked without the issues I had with the BU-353. I haven't compared the performance but I have to think the Garmin product is as good as the generic. The built-in USB cable is around 2 meters long, but given the price, it would be nice to see one closer to 10 feet. When using this on a boat you will always need a bit more line to pull the line through the roof hatch. This would make it a 5 star product.
