Review on OSD Audio PS10 Powered Subwoofer by Jim Bodnarchek

I bought this OSD Audio Nero Dual X8 to add to a secondary 2 channel audio system that is in the living room of my house and it really helped. I have multiple audio systems, multiple 12" subwoofers, tube amps, etc., so I didn't expect that the addition of an 8" subwoofer in the living room would come as a shock, but that wasn't my goal. This system is "Zone 2" for my larger audio system and is just a two channel system for occasional TV and music playback around the house via Zone 2 from the main system. I have a decent amp and two bookshelf speakers in this living room, and I really wanted to "boost" the LFE signal a bit for TV and low-end music when I'm sitting at the dinner table and filling the house with smoother sound. . I have several 12" subwoofers in my main audio room, so I knew I wasn't going to get deafening bass from an 8" sub, but this little Nero filled the gap really well where I needed it! I plugged it in, adjusted the crossover, tuned the AVR/AMP to match - and tuned all three speakers (including the Nero) with a sound pressure meter and to be honest it sounds really good. I play music fairly quietly in this living room, but when I go into my office (adjoining room) I still get good bass response. I really wish this little bug had a real LFE input and crossover bypass (I could have sworn it had when I first saw it on the Revain) but overall it works well when done correctly and set up appropriately for the price. Period I suppose that's what it is. Overall build quality is good and the footprint is exceptionally small, which might appeal to you if you have a small living space. I wouldn't recommend it for a 5.1+ surround sound system and movies (always turn up the volume if you can), but if you're listening at low volume in a small room, it might work for you.
