Review on πŸ“„ Efficiently Digitize Documents with Canon ImageFORMULA DR-M160II Office Document Scanner by Adam Browning

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The speed and quality are great, and the installation and support is terrible.

I bought this scanner a few months ago to scan boxes and boxes of files to the cloud to save space. As other reviewers have pointed out, the installation process is very cumbersome and confusing. The scanner came with software. for Kofax VRS and the Kofax Elite Upgrade Key. I still don't know what it is or how to install it as Canon's support is so terrible. It looks like there are a lot of features that I still don't know how to use or what they are. I have found that the sheet feeder capacity is well below the advertised 60 pages and the actual capacity does not exceed 35 pages. . If you load more pages it gets stuck. However, it does a good job of scanning pages of different sizes. However, the quality and speed are amazing and make up for the lack of software and support. If Canon had even a basic level of support I would rate it 5 stars. The optical character recognition that this scanner should have only works about half the time. The price of this scanner is too high, but I'm satisfied with the speed and quality. with my purchase. I only wish I had the free time and technical understanding to take full advantage of this scanner. UPDATE: I've had this scanner for seven months now and its capacity is decreasing. Now when I try to scan more than 15 pages at a time, it hangs every time. Downgraded to three stars.
