We have been adding a lot of network ports recently and I needed some more short cables for the wiring closets. We have had a lot of issues with the RJ45 end no clicking into place. The boot need to be pushed right up to the port to get it to latch. If I am not careful, it won't latch and then the cable will fall out of the port. That leaves me with, "Where is this supposed to be connected to?" Also, if you want to remove the cable, it is nearly impossible. The boot is hard enough that you can't just squeeze it. I have had to push a small flat screwdriver up the side of the port to release the latch. That is really hard to do in a large patch panel or switch that has a lot of cables.Eventually I have moved most of these cables to the wireless access points that don't get moved. The cable is in place and they run well. I just hope I don't ever need to move them.
