Review on Vortex Optics Razor Prism Binoculars by Jason Childs

I have several binoculars in the $500 range from Pentax and Nikon and the Vortex Optics Razor is noticeably sharper and resolves much better detail. The next step will be Zeiss Victory binoculars at twice the price. I tried the Zeiss Conquest but the ones I got were out of tune which ruined my life with budget Zeiss binoculars. I have 6x, 7x, 8x and 10x binoculars and these 8x magnifications are generally the most useful although the lower 7x50 magnification is best used on boats with boat traffic and often poor lighting where binoculars can make finding entrances much easier in the harbour or debris in the water, especially at night. I find it much more difficult to hold 10x binoculars steady enough to take full advantage of the extra magnification for viewing small objects. As my eyesight deteriorates, should I pay more for better optics with more contrast. see. My $500 Nikon and Pentax binoculars have been fine for years, and for younger eyes they're more than good enough.
