This is my favorite filter for making coffee with my Chemex. I've tried unbleached and other brands. These other variations either impart an unpleasant taste or result in a coffee flavor profile that isn't as good as those classic Chemex filters. By using these filters, you get bright, clean coffee full of subtle flavors and aromas. If you prefer a fuller, richer cup of coffee, I wouldn't recommend it and suggest you try a French Press coffee instead. The main disadvantage of these filters is the fact that you have to convert the square fold into a conical filter. . This is done by opening the fold so the Chemex spout has 3 layers of filtering. Do not fully open the filter. My wife made this several times and while the coffee tasted great it was a bit messy.
