Description of ☕ Chemex Classic Coffee Filters, Square Shape, Pack of 100 - Enhanced Packaging

Step 1: Place the funnel in the top portion of the CHEMEX coffeemaker, with 3 layers on the groove side. The groove is an air vent (and also the pouring spout) and allows air to escape from the lower portion of the coffeemaker, letting the coffee filter. Step 2: Put coffee in the filter paper cone. Use one heaping tablespoon per cup of coffee (adjust to personal taste if needed after first brew). Refer to brewing instructions for remaining steps. THICKER: 20-30% thicker than the competition, specialty fiber filter design keep bitter elements, oils, and grounds in their place (and out of your cup). Fits all CHEMEX Coffeemakers except CM-1, CM-1C, CM-1GH. Fits all CHEMEX Coffeemakers except CM-1, CM-1C, CM-1GH.

Absolutely Essential

You need *these* filters if you have Chemex and pour coffee over them. I didn't originally buy them because I wanted to pick them up at my local Whole Foods store, but my Whole Foods mysteriously stopped selling that brand and went with a different brand instead. With another brand of filter I had to be very careful and pour "baby" or the bottom broke and all the water and sediment went straight into the carafe. However, they are incredibly strong, durable and wonderful and there is no such…

Works perfectly! Makes cleaning easier!

My infuser coffee maker has a metal filter, but it was painful to clean after making coffee. I use the filter together with the metal filter and it is now very easy to clean. Tried it on my own but had issues with it sticking to the sides and not leaking coffee. Using it with a metal filter solved this problem for me. I'm sure someone else wouldn't have any issues with it sticking to the sides. I know it has to do with proper wrinkle placement to prevent this, but I'm often half asleep brewing…

Overall this is very good. The taste is fantastic. I'm usually a very budget conscious buyer and would find a cheaper alternative but to be honest the other options just aren't that good. I'll say it's hard for me to pay the price because after all they're just paper filters. I can only imagine the profit margin. BUT the quality is very good and they filter out the perfect amount of bitter taste leaving a fantastic cup of coffee. I've had some issues with using FOREVER water to filter when the…

Great filter for your Chemex or coffee maker

This is my favorite filter for making coffee with my Chemex. I've tried unbleached and other brands. These other variations either impart an unpleasant taste or result in a coffee flavor profile that isn't as good as those classic Chemex filters. By using these filters, you get bright, clean coffee full of subtle flavors and aromas. If you prefer a fuller, richer cup of coffee, I wouldn't recommend it and suggest you try a French Press coffee instead. The main disadvantage of these filters is…

  • Good thing
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Skeptical about claims that natural (brown) filters add flavor, I conducted a simple test by pouring freshly boiled water through each filter. I have noticed a mild but distinct "woody" or "papery" odor and taste in water poured through a natural (brown) filter; after cooling, the smell decreased, but the taste remained. A natural filter even tints the water slightly. I don't claim to be able to tell the difference in brewed coffee (especially the dark roasted strong brew I always make), and of
