Great mop just don't drop it

I've been waiting to write this to give a long term review. I've had this mop for almost 2 years now and I'm still very happy with it. It's basically a steam iron that converts into a mop that releases steam onto the floor to loosen dirt and sanitize it. The wet pad picks up loose dirt without the use of chemicals. Works perfectly. However, here are a few points to consider: 1. First and foremost, the cable is too short. My advice: Use an extension cord AND lean the back of the unit against a wall when you stop cleaning. The mop is very light but with a heavy top and the slightest tug will fall backwards which can damage internal components. I think this happened to a lot of people saying the device stopped working because it happened to me. The first mop I bought kept spinning and intermittently starting to emit steam, so I wrote the company a letter at the address given in the instructions. Some people said they had customer service issues but for me they were quick to respond. They asked for a short video showing the problem (which didn't seem like an unreasonable request) and then immediately sent a new unit for free. It was a month before the warranty expired, so + on customer service.2. The instruction manual is ridiculously useless. It was clearly written or translated by someone whose first language is not English. For the most part everything can be sorted out, but it doesn't help that the pages print out of order (maybe they've already fixed it).3. First you need to vacuum. The mop doesn't pick up anything, it just removes the dirt.4. Buy lots of extra pads. Our house is about 1500 square meters. foot tiles and I use 8 spacers. Of course it depends on your situation, but if you don't replace the dirty pad with a clean one, you'll just smear dirt all over the floor. If you have dogs like us, you will definitely need these extra pads. I fill the tank 4 or 5 times per 1500 sq. feet, so I get about 300-400 sq.m. Foot cleaning per refill.6. It makes sense to first moisten the pad with warm water. This isn't necessary, but otherwise the steam must permeate the seal before it will work properly. If you live in hard water area, it is better to use distilled water.8. No need to use other cleaning products, the steam itself does the job well. However, if you need extra cleaning power, it's probably safe to spray a light solution on the floor and mop it up. Only water should go into the tank.9. As I said, we have dogs. Because the mop only uses steam and contains no fragrances, the house smells of dog odor for several hours after washing. It's okay just need to know.10. Finally, a small ergonomic disadvantage: the oval handle is simply uncomfortable. There doesn't seem to be a good spot, which is worrying knowing that a fall could damage the device. I don't use hand tools or a carpet guide so I can't comment on them. In my experience, this is a great little mop that costs $100. Hope this will be helpful. Have fun cleaning.
