I had an old Sony DAV-FR1 surround sound system in my bedroom that receiver was dying so I bought a new Sony STR-DH590 for $199 and a Polk Audio Center Channel for $77 and I hooked it up to old Sony bookshelf speakers I had lying around and the bass wasn't enough. So I repurposed a Sony SS-WS12 passive subwoofer from a broken Sony DAV-FR1, hooked it up to a Fosi M02 mono channel subwoofer amplifier and hooked it up to my new Sony STR-DH590 and wow! BOOM bass! If you don't believe me, check out the attached video! I'm not sure why some of the negative reviewers struggled. This little subwoofer is powerful and sounds great! If you have a passive subwoofer just lying around, you can't go wrong for $60! I highly recommend this little sub amp! By the way, I had great support from Fosi Audio when I emailed them with a couple of wiring questions. The next day, two different people from tech support emailed me to help me. Also good service!
