This is the first time I buy hair straighteners and I probably would never have thought to buy one if I'm a new hairdresser I haven't used it on my hair. A lot of times my hair just doesn't work for me, and a huge lightbulb went on when I realized I could finally fix it! The device heats up quite quickly (I would say within 5-10 seconds). It does have a power button, though, so you don't have to worry about it getting hot and burning you while still holding it when you plug it in. and indicator lights, as well as buttons that allow you to set the device to the right temperature for your hair. Overall I think the device is very well made. It does a great job of styling and my hair (which often doesn't do what I want) seems to work really well with this straightener. I'm very glad I have it. Additional perks were also a comb/pick and clips (a glove is a nice addition but I don't use one). They make me feel like I can do what my barber can (I honestly can't, but I'm trying).
