This grinder is much faster and grinds beans better. Every week throughout the summer, I make my version of egg salad or tuna salad, but with beans. Beans are so good for us and I use 4 cans of beans and lots of turmeric which is good too - as an internal antiseptic for cleansing. It took me forever to mash the beans with my old flat stainless steel round-hole tamper. This tool works so much better and I get the job done in half the time. It's also dishwasher safe. Like it a lot! TIP: When working with canned beans, always drain the can of beans into a colander and continue rinsing the beans with cold water until the water stops foaming and runs clear. This removes a lot of gas from the canned beans and makes them easier to digest.
