I thought the "two sets" I get are 2 fans and 2 controllers, which can be used in two different places. Not so. The 2 fans are hardwired to the same speed controller and must be used in the same location. The wiring configuration allows the fans to be spaced from 23" to 24" with the controller in the middle. Rather than returning the order, I placed a fan under the center of our TIVO box and one under the center of the neighboring ROKU box, both of which always appear warm. Each unit is mounted directly onto a fan with soft feet at the top and bottom. This allows the flat-bottomed electronic device to be installed directly above the fans, leaving little room for air movement. You can get by with a single fan tucked under the center of a small device, but you'll likely need a couple or more fans to support and balance larger devices. I connected the fan controller to the TIVO USB port. At low settings, the silent description is fairly accurate. They are no longer "silent" at medium and high levels. I can't judge how effectively the fans dissipate the heat from the TIVO and ROKU. At low levels, the fans appear to be moving a small amount of air. These fans should be suitable for other types of installation, e.g. B. on the side or back of a cabinet or in an electronics cutout. This "2 pack" was a good solution after remapping what I wanted to use the fans for. I would recommend this item to anyone who needs to install 2 fans fairly close together. This deal took a star off because I didn't like that I couldn't use the fans in two places and the silent description was only accurate in terms of the low speed setting.
