Review on Milton 1022 8 Metal Micro Filter by Bernard Her

I was delighted to purchase this product especially as it is one of the very few made in the USA. over 30+ copper and brass fittings/connections. I ran the supercharger to 125psi, turned off the supercharger and didn't hear a single hiss (leak). So I turn the compressor back on and the pressure goes up to 130 135 140 but still no problem. I started thinking that I was clean. BUT of course, how lucky I was, it was between 140-145psi (I would say 143psi) loud bang. followed by a LOUD HISTING. I looked where it was coming from and could clearly see and hear it where the metal cup screwed into the top of my new Milton 1022-8 3/4-inch high-flow microfilter. A white stuff that looked like grease/silicone (I'm guessing some sort of assembly grease) blew down the side of the cup. My guess is that the gasket or o-ring used to seal the cup to the top has failed. I tested this when I received everything (around June 25th) and the cup was leaking. After a problem it was able to rotate maybe 1/4 turn further so I tried tightening it but to my dismay it still didn't go well. I understand that sometimes brand new things fail, but it still sucks. Especially since my old filter/regulator is a Sharpe 808A which I've had since 1994 and has never leaked even after taking it apart and reusing the same gasket multiple times. So I will now contact Revain and hope there are no problems with his replacement. Here, too, it failed within the first 5 minutes due to any air pressure. UPDATED: So it's been 2 years and everything has been working great...until today when the bowl o-ring on the 1037-8 blew up and part of the number Milton listed for replacing the o-ring fits like NOTHING! Definitely not happy. My Sharpe 880-A has been running for 24 years with no problems or leaks. Must try to contact Milton direct on Monday to sort this out. Remember that the rite was interrupted in the middle of working on the customs machine.
