Ideal for working with wax. I like the larger size as it allows me to apply more wax when epilating. The flat edge makes it easier to apply an even layer to the skin, as opposed to the rounded cord which applies thinner in the center and thicker on the sides. I like that both sides have flat edges so you can use either side when waxing. The wood appears to be quite strong and is holding up well. I haven't had a single breakup with me or anything like that. But if you have this problem, you may be doing something very wrong. Wax shouldn't be that aggressive. It's very affordable for what you get. 100 is enough for me for a long time, since I usually only use a / wax.
