This part is better than the OEM part it replaced. You can tell the board is more reliable than the original, which is probably why it has so many issues on 4th gen Explorers. If you can't push the button on the switch to get out of the parking lot, this is the part you need. My O/D button installed on the switch also didn't work, but it also connects to this board and retains full functionality once installed. This part can be replaced without removing the center console, but the console is held in place by 8 screws. and removal takes less time than fumbling with disconnecting and reconnecting cables to the board in the field.
