This toner cartridge offers excellent value for money and prints cleanly on plain paper for normal print jobs. However, be aware of the following printing limitation: Ink (actually a plastic material) will not print clearly and/or will not adhere to the substrate (paper) under the following circumstances. When printing in bold in very dark environments, fully filled symbols or characters, or thick images may smudge when handled. Even when printing very dark/bold letters on paper other than matte, such as a shipping label with a smooth surface, the print may not stick or smudge. I was able to solve the last problem by roughening the label slightly before printing: I took a napkin and wiped the surface vigorously with it before printing. This minimized the problem. I suspect that the ink doesn't stick/fix on some papers that have a slight sheen or maybe some other physical aspect. I would like to emphasize that I do not have this problem with the vast majority of print jobs. But I ran into it as I mentioned above. I didn't have this problem with the original Brother cartridge.
