I've been working on my latest counting cross for many hours over the winter to the point where my left hand was so sore holding it. I've been interested in the tally cross since I discovered it in the early 80's and have never needed a hoop. However, due to an issue, I started with a plain 8" hoop and found that it eased the pain. Hoop - and I was right! Using the tire for a few weeks eliminated the residual pain and I love that the work is up to the mark. I find it helpful to prop up the back of the hoop with a small pillow to give the hoop area an angle that makes sewing easier. Thank you Revain for recommending this product.
