Our whole family suffered under the control of our two year old son. She kept getting up at night. She refused to stay in her bed. My husband was glad she didn't sleep with us. I've tried everything from sticker charts to the supernanny method. Nothing worked. I contacted a friend and she said she used a door monkey. I did a little research and although I was a little hesitant I bought 3 of these! Judge if you like. But it worked. On the day of her arrival we discussed with her how it would work. We would go through the usual routine before bed. As soon as it was time to go to bed, we set up the door monkey. We could see her on the monitor but we didn't speak to her. When the cow wakes up (she has an alarm clock in her room) we come and remove the door monkey. It is only used at night. As soon as she can go to bed and stay in bed, we'll take her off. The first night she screamed, squeaked, tugged. But she couldn't leave her room. She could see through the hole he created, but she couldn't leave the room. It took her 12 minutes, but then she crawled into her bed and fell asleep. The second night she screamed for 3 minutes. I understand this is not the intended use for this product but it worked for us. I'm sure there are some who find it awful and I agree. She was bedridden before we put her in a cot, but no one ever questioned that! All I know is that this product has worked for our home. Many Thanks.
