My 2003 Dodge Dakota had an issue where the lowest fan speed setting in my climate settings behaved the same as the shutdown setting. So instead of a watch face with "Off, Low, Medium, High, Highest" settings, it was "Off, Off, Medium, High, Highest". My AC light even went off, just like it behaves when you normally turn the fan speed off completely. In a forum post I read that gave me the idea of replacing this resistor, it sounded the same as other people having this problem, seemed to only have the highest fan speed set and no others. Replacing it was fairly easy, except it was under the dash at an awkward angle. I remember having to cut a notch or snap off some sort of tab to make it fit (I installed it last summer so I'm a bit confused about the details). But that solved my problem and has been working fine ever since!
