Doesn't quite match the quality.

When I first purchased this item I was thrilled to be saving almost $40 on a Dyson patented filter. unable to really tell the difference between the two. After using this third party filter for a year, I had a constant sore throat. I keep my clean, hot, cool Dyson next to my bed as a fan to blow on when I sleep. As my filter filled up I decided to buy another one but this time I was curious if there was a clear difference between a Dyson branded filter and this aftermarket filter. the differences are obvious, not only the outer plastic opening is significantly larger, but also the filter folds in the second layer lead to the back where the actual filter for all germs is located. The difference in the third layer is also significant. The aftermarket variant looks like woven dog hair, while the Dyson variant looks almost like charcoal. The first thing I noticed upon inserting the Dyson was a distinct difference in the smell of the air, which reminded me of when I first bought my unit. . The air smells like hospital now, which may seem unattractive to you, but it tells me it's clean again. Even the non-original one, although covered in dust, didn't absorb as much dust as the Dyson used to give off. I'm curious if this actually meets the air quality guidelines he sets out in the sessions.
