It's so soft! The outer layer is a fluffy material and the inner layer is a very soft cotton. It's not very thick but has some weight. My son seems very comfortable in it. The quality is great too! Seems to be feeling very safe. The only thing that can warn you are two stars sewn on the front that may fall off in the future. Be sure to check your measurements! We didn't pay much attention to it and it's long enough for our 10 year old to fit in! We considered swapping it out for a smaller size but my little one doesn't seem to care. At least we have something that will last.
