This genuine replacement is actually easier to use as it doesn't have a clamp to rust or dry out on the original lifter and get stuck, loosen a screw, remove old block and replace with a new one substitute. how simple. I lubricated the cable well to keep it from corroding and drying out from the elements. Of course, there's no harm in rotating it a few times a year to keep it moving. I assume I never took the old one off it fell off and just turned into a ball of rust,
