I can't speak of an improvement, I'm carnitine deficient so I'm deficient I don't take it for the same reasons as most people do, but I guess they do. However, I highly recommend trying the smaller NOW 500mg pills instead and taking two as these are the biggest pills I've ever taken in my life (seriously, they're gigantic). Every day I scratched her throat/esophagus. I've tried taking them with different liquids and big gulps, but to no avail. I may have a smaller neck than most but I doubt it and I've never had a problem with pills.
