They sent it in a package so the cardboard "gift box" was broken. One of the cutters is perfect (right), the other looks like a defect with jagged edges and dents. They are also not a solid dark brown standard wood, but a mixture of light and dark wood. So be careful when thinking of a gift. Otherwise the grinders seem to work pretty well when grinding and they last a lot so you don't have to keep refilling. UPDATE: Very impressed with the customer service which is why I added a star. They contacted me and explained that the item was shipped from Amazon warehouse and the seller could not request delivery of the box. I bought them because they look exactly like the ones we had as a kid so I will definitely be keeping them.
