A few years ago I bought a brand new Toshiba DVR from Best Buy. Never had a problem with the block. Suddenly the remote control stopped working. WTF? Not surprisingly, Toshiba stopped making these devices, so I had to search the internet for replacements. Please note that a "regular" DVR remote will NOT work with a Toshiba DVR. After careful research, this particular remote turned out to be the cheapest of the two or three tested for compatibility with the DVR. The remote works well, however the play and stop buttons are quite small and are located at the bottom of the remote, which means the play and stop buttons obviously need to be used with two hands. Food for thought if you're buying this remote for someone who needs one-handed operation.
