However (see title) I am not retired and do long distance running. I'm applying heat to my lower back as the "clap-clap-clap" of these boots on the sidewalk still rings in my ears. They fit well, but they're not particularly well balanced, the soles aren't thick enough - or soft enough - and the shoes are perfect, preternaturally flat. I hear the shoe engineers who made them congratulate themselves on the excellent flats they created after hours of work on expensive CAD software. "Here! It will undo every God-given advantage the human leg was created with!" they probably said to themselves. So even if you have a decent running stride, these shoes hit the pavement with a bone-hard hit. And they are not particularly light on a pickup truck. You really feel it after ten miles. I ended up having to take a long, low stride to avoid injury. If you're a long-distance runner, invest in a pair of mid-range shoes and take care don't care.
