It's a lot easier to clean the floor with it. I never cease to be amazed at how many things get into our kitchen and fall off always something to do Clean up The broom works on the kitchen carpet I hated well hate is a strong word I really didn't like bending down with a dustpan in one hand and a broom in the other to clean the floor If it wasn't so bad I did I cleaned it up right away. A mess right away. The set isn't perfect. It's short but I'm used to it.. The broom is 36" tall. The broom material spreads out. They weren't spread out much, b is I decided to clean under the stove. UPDATE: Instead of cutting off the splayed bristles, I wrapped duct tape tightly over the bristles and solved the problem. The broom still sweeps great and splayed bristles are now held up, no problem. If you try this, you'll probably need to use enough tape to make it stick to itself. -- 2nd update: the masking tape doesn't stick very well so I'll try something else, maybe something different. Type of ribbon, tightly tied string, or wide ribbon. The shovel is designed with the handle connected to the shovel to stand on its own. You don't have to hold the shovel while sweeping dirt. t, I put my foot on the shovel and pull the handle out. I like that I can store the broom with the palette. It's huge. I can even sweep up large items if I want. The trash can is approximately 4 inches deep, nearly 7 inches high, and 11 1/2 inches wide. I don't have to bend down to use the shovel. My floor is cleaner because I enjoy using this set. It is easy to empty. Both items can be hung. The dustpan stands by itself. There are a few complaints about the broom.
