My 3 year old has recently found the darkness intimidating and the walkie talkie was an easy way for her to contact me when she is scared or wants to go potty in the middle the night. A small flashlight will also come in handy. These walkie-talkies are very cute, but they have one downside - power consumption. Batteries will burn out after 3-4 days of moderate use. These radios use 4 triple A. So 8 batteries every few days can get expensive. Now we really only use them at night.
