Deep scratches on the floor didn't improve. Took an old carpet in my living room and dining room that had been there for over 35 years and that I hadn't removed, the previous owners did. I found some nice wooden floors underneath in good condition, the only problem was that the carpet fitters who installed them took a razor blade and cut the paneling into the hard wooden floor. This left three deep scratches that darkened over time so I thought I might try filling them in. I worked two days off trying to cover up the scratches to match the color of the floor. I didn't have success, I couldn't get the right color by mixing each bath differently. In fact, it looked even worse, so I left two as they were and put a rug on top of the one that I wanted to fix. I think I need to repaint the floor or put carpet on it.
