Review on Boxtech Submersible Aquarium Heater 100W by Mary Crawford

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It's in Celsius, y'all, but it works as it should

I didn't realize, or maybe it wasn't specifically stated, that this thermometer only reads Celsius. A bit annoying, but to make sure I didn't actually fry my fish, and because I don't know my Celsius to Fahrenheit conversion, I Googled this shiz. Anyway, if you need it, just know that it's easy enough. This heater is very compact, which I like. I have it in a 9 gallon Fluval Flex with built in compartments in the back so I needed a smaller heater to make sure it would fit snugly next to the pump which is in the same compartment. He's here and working. excellent, and there is room to spare. I've been monitoring the water temperature closely with a separate thermometer and so far it's holding steady at the desired 78*. The only thing I really don't like is that the cord is thick and round instead of a flat cord. This makes it a little unwieldy to fit nicely into the pre-cut portion of my aquarium lid, but I didn't even think about it until it arrived and was installed. Also a minor inconvenience, but be aware that if you have an aquarium kit that has a pre-cut area for the cables coming out of the lid, this is something to consider. All in all it works great and does its job. Work.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Legacy model
