I am a professional nail designer and discovered this file. I always try any product on myself first to see how it works. I used it dry and it really got rid of the calluses and dry skin. You must be careful not to rub too hard or damage the skin. But it worked great for my dry skin. So now I use it at work but I use it when my feet get wet first. That works fine. I wash and soak myself in barbicide between clients, of course. When I did this, the cleaning service was released from the grip. I thought it was possible so I just glued it back on and wanted to make sure it was sealed anyway so I didn't have to worry about getting germs between those surfaces. But for home use I don't think you will need that. I recommend it, only pay attention to sensitive skin.
